Big Game Seminar

Every year our operator in Kenya hosts a Big Game Seminar in Malindi, Kenya. This seminar will give all participants the opportunity to get everything to know about the Big Game Fishing.

With a theoretical part at the beginning which is very useful to understand what will happen on the trip, our anglers are shown knots, rods, reels, how to get assist hooks for jigging, how to rig Marlin and strip-bait lures etc... basically everything an angler should know!

Anglers will fish for six days for 10 hours per day with some of the best boats and captain in Malindi & Watamu. Normally three anglers are sharing one boat.

The whole trip will be guided and a professional video and photo documentation of this event will be made. This seminar is one of our best selling trips.

The seminar takes place in the best Marlin season in Kenya. Every year there are huge marlin caught in these waters around Malindi and Watamu. During the seminar we will show you all successful methods in Kenya. Starting with trolling to bait & switch all the way up to jigging and spin fishing for Marlin and Sailfish. If you want to catch a Marlin or Sailfish on the fly rod, here is your chance for it...

The Fishing

Day 1: All anglers fly out and arrive at Moi International Airport in Mombasa. They will be picked up by our private Transport and you will reach Malindi and our Hotel appr. two hours later. Anglers have time to enjoy your all-inclusive services before we start with our theoretical part of the seminar. We will show all the important techniques, methods and tricks for the upcoming fishing days.

Day 2 to 7: Anglers will go on the hunt for Black, Blue and Striped Marlin as well as Sailfish, Wahoo, Kingfish and other species. Every day they will fish for 10 hours of Big Game Fishing with some of the best Captains and boats in Kenya!

Day 8: Depending on flights, anglers will leave the Hotel back to Mombasa. Our tour ends with the drop-off at Moi International Airport in Mombasa.

Traditionally trolling is the most used technique in Kenya to catch the billfish. But we will focus on the more exciting techniques like bait & switch and spin fishing for these fast and powerful predators.

As we use no hooks in our teasers, you will have to chance to pitch your bait right in front of an angry billfish and hook it just a few meters away from the boat. This very exciting and successful way of fishing also works with fly rods.

Jigging in Kenya works very well, especially on the underwater mountains of the Malima banks. Anglers can catch Red Snapper, Grouper and Amberjacks on jigs. In Kenya we practice power jigging as we fish in deeper water with heavier jigs and equipment.

The classic trolling techniques will be also used. We fish with lures, strip-baits and live baits for the giants of the ocean. As there are many different techniques we can use during the seminar, we make sure that every angler will get a fantastic week of fishing.

Kenya provides a lot of possibilities for big game fishing, so there is a high variety of how you can fish down there.
